Dear Solar Community,

I hope you have enjoyed a peaceful start to the new year and have been taking some time to reflect over the last couple of weeks. I am writing to share with you some news about my personal plans for the upcoming year.

After almost ten years of dedicated service to our wonderful community, I have decided to take some extended time off this year to adventure (both externally and internally), spend more time in nature, and learn some new skills that will contribute to my ongoing mission of showing up in this world as my true authentic self.

This is a milestone for me and also something I’ve been considering for a while, as a way to reward myself. I’ve worked hard over the years at leading our team to provide the best chiropractic care for you all. I am super proud of the Solar team and the community we have created together. It’s so touching that we are given the opportunity to support something as precious as the health of you and your family. The dramatic improvements we see in the health of this community will never cease to amaze me, as people connect to their innate self-healing capacity and get more in touch with their own needs and desires.

I am eager to embark on this journey of self-discovery. Some of my intentions for this year are to:

  • Participate in a Vipassana mediation
  • Spend more time in nature, including learning some survival skills to live off the land
  • Work on a farm, learning how to respect nature, animal husbandry, be more in touch with the full circle of life and where our food comes from
  • Go on a chiropractic mission trip
  • Participate in other retreats focusing on men’s work, expanding consciousness and sexuality, health and wellness and whatever else may come my way
  • Travel in a van around Latin America and learn Spanish
  • Get in touch with the creative side of myself I let slide in childhood, mostly through music
  • Forget what day of the week it is
  • Get better at surfing

Some of you have probably already noticed my availability has decreased compared to last year. This will continue to drop in the coming months. I will be away for the month of February before being available for some morning shifts in Amsterdam in March, and some Tuesdays in Delft. From April on I have no set plans, but I will be available for limited shifts only, with possibly some Saturday mornings in Amsterdam.

At the end of the day, our commitment to you is to provide you with high quality chiropractic care. During my absences, I want to assure you that the high standard of care you have come to expect from our practice will continue with our excellent team of chiropractors, and I hope you prioritise your health and stay on track with your adjustments. The Solar team share my passion for holistic health, and I have full confidence in their ability to provide you with the outstanding service you deserve.

Jon has such a beautiful grounding presence that I’ve heard multiple stories of people who started to heal just from being in his sphere of influence. He really sees you for where you are in your journey, and is fully committed to the Delft community for many years to come.

Daniel Lewis many of you already know. Daniel is one of my best friends who started Solar Chiropractic with me way back in the beginning (when it was called Amsterdam Chiropractie & Wellness and we bought all the furniture we could find in a gorgeous specific shade of green). He is a dedicated chiropractor with a calm and gentle touch, and he has been the chiropractor I’ve got most of my own adjustments from for the last three years.

We also have Tory, who joined us in 2023. I had been looking for a chiropractor for almost four years by the time I invited Tory to join our team. In that time, I conducted countless interviews with chiropractors reaching out to me from many corners of the globe, and Tory stood out as the best. She has more of a firm or deep adjustment, and I’m excited to work with her for the years ahead.

I am truly grateful for the trust you have placed in our practice over the years. Our Delft practice was the very first I worked in when I landed in Europe, fresh faced and wide-eyed, back in 2014. I’ve been lucky enough to work with some of you for many years, and watched you experience marriages, graduations, break-ups, childbirths, deaths and all that this beautiful life has to offer. I look forward to what’s in store for us all as we move forward. Furthermore, I encourage you to embrace this opportunity to work with Tory, Daniel and Jon, who are excited to serve you during my absences.

Thank you for your understanding, and I appreciate your continued support.

Wishing you health and happiness!

Daniel Pernet
